I agree. That is essentially the foundation of the piece I wrote. Others seem to be mistaking that.
The situation in Ukraine, as it stands, is a no-win scenario for the West. Finding some way to protect Ukraine's sovereignty and self-determination - while also being conciliatory to Russia for good relations and potential deescalation - are contradictory aims.
People have wrongly translated this article as a "Russia is not losing and we should therefore stop helping Ukraine" piece. No; I am merely pointing out what you eluded to. As it stands, this conflict will be perpetual or repeat in various iterations in the future. There is a major diplomatic venture that needs to occur - in the eyes of the West - and Ukraine's desires are subservient to that, unfortunately.
That's the truth of it, not an opinion.
