A new Russian offensive supplied by China?

It has been recently reported that China had sent arms, munitions, body armor, and drone technology to Russia in late 2022. Now, speculations continue to loom as to whether China will continue to supply Russia, if not increase their efforts.

Many speculated that the Springtime would see a new Russian offensive in Ukraine. In order to do that, Russia needed to fill some serious gaps in logistics. Putin looked to China for that support. Perhaps the revelation of 2022 weapons deals allows us to assume, with reasonable doubt, that China is likely doing the same now.

Tensions in the Indopacific region — particularly regarding Taiwan and American alliances in the region — have seemingly solidified China’s partnership with Russia. There was some speculation that Xi was only showing face; that he was posturing in such a way to challenge the US and see if we shirk from escalations.

Seeing as that did not happen, China has now doubled down and is moving closer and closer to what looks like an official strategic relationship with Russia. What is worse, NATO member Turkey appears to have been the middle man, as customs documents revealed that the shipments were routed through Turkey to Russia.

As US Navy Admiral John Aquilino recently stated, the friction in the Indopacific region is “trending in the wrong direction.”

What do you think? Russia and China are major trade powers. Is it reasonable to assume that China is sending weapons to Russia for its 2023 Offensive into Ukraine?
